About Dr Ian Lampkin
Dr Ian Lampkin, MBChB, MRCP, FRCR
Dr Lampkin is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist practising across the North West, with a particular interest in providing highly specialist, evidence-based and personalised cancer care.

Background
Dr Lampkin studied medicine at the University of Liverpool and qualified in 2011, after this he completed his medical training in the North West. During this time, he saw first-hand the profound impact that a cancer diagnosis can have on individuals and their families. This experience inspired him to pursue a career in Oncology, with a commitment to combining specialist medical expertise with compassionate, individualised patient care. He completed his specialist training in Clinical Oncology and was appointed as a Consultant at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in 2022.
Clatterbridge is one of the largest cancer centres in the UK, and working there means his patients have access to equipment and expertise that simply isn’t available everywhere. He works across both the NHS and private sectors, offering specialist and innovative treatment tailored to the individual needs, circumstances and wishes of each patient. He believes that good cancer care is about more than treating the disease; it is about understanding the person behind the diagnosis, listening to their concerns and supporting them throughout their treatment journey.
